Group Promo- Assignment
The vision of our NewsVision promo is to showcase the journalist story. This vision stems from “At Howard University, everyone has a story, a process, and a journey. Some of those students are chosen to be journalists and they get to tell your story. NewsVision provides those students a chance to brush up on their skills as storytellers”. We will showcase this by first showing students at Howard University walking to class or on the most popular area of campus, The Yard. Then, we will pan over to the School of Communications and, in particular, the “NewVision” class. From there we will show video footage of the students in the class, along with the packages and stories that are created inside and outside of the classroom. There will be a voiceover, over the clips stating the assignments that the journalist does as well as sound on tape from some of the clips of reporter’s packages. The promo will end with the journalist saying “NewsVision is Me”. We figured this is the best because NewsVision plays an important role in journalism majors’ lives at Howard. At the end of the day, NewsVision is the place where journalists are polished to be the best. We want the promo to showcase the importance of this class. As a group, we decided to split up the roles as co-producers, co-editors, and co-writers because we all worked together to come up with this idea. We also want to make sure that we are all contributing to help make this the best promo and to perfect each of these roles.
